COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator work highlighted at the FDA Science Forum
The 2021 FDA Science Forum, held virtually on May 26 and 27, 2021, offers an opportunity for the public to view the unique scientific research and collaborative efforts of FDA’s 11,000 scientists.
Among the poster presentations was Accelerating Evidence Generation by Convening Diverse Stakeholders Across the Real World Data Ecosystem. It details how the Reagan-Udall Foundation for the FDA, in collaboration with Friends of Cancer Research and active participation by FDA and key stakeholders, launched the COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator in April 2020. This model may be adapted to address other urgent public health challenges where collaborative scientific analyses using real-world data could enhance understanding.
Another presentation focused on Convening Stakeholders Across the Real-World Data Ecosystem, which also highlighted the work of the COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator. The poster explains how the Evidence Accelerator creates a strong foundation for rapid collection and rigorous analysis of RWD to answer urgent questions about COVID-19.
