COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator Therapeutics Lab Meeting 1/21/2021
Happy New Year! We are looking forward to seeing you at our January 21st Therapeutics Lab meeting (3pmET).
To kick off 2021, we’ll invest most of the meeting in a review and discussion of the ‘parallel analysis’ workstream of the Accelerator. Much of this work is done behind-the-scenes, where data holders and analyzers work together to answer discrete questions about COVID-19 in different data sets. Our ‘Accelerators’ have worked through the use of hydroxychloroquine and are looking at the characteristics of remdesivir use and aspiring to illustrate the natural history of coagulopathy. We’ll look for your feedback about this work:
- Does repetition of findings among diverse Accelerators increase confidence in results?
- What do we do with divergent results?
- Is it helpful to explore electronic health records, claims, linked data sets, patient-generated health data?
- Has our thinking on moving towards master protocols among different data sources changed? Is this laudable but never going to happen?
We’ll then close the meeting with an introduction to a hospital capacity model from colleagues at Yale…and our ‘visualization of the week’. See you Thursday!
