COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator –Vaccine Workstream

As COVID-19 vaccines move out of vials and into arms, real world data begins to flow from vaccination sites to public health systems, electronic health records, and payor claims. The COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator is launching a new workstream to explore how to best monitor and leverage this real-world data to track vaccine performance.

Our inaugural vaccine meeting on March 18 features an update from FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research on their ongoing real-world data gathering and evaluation efforts, and a conversation between Dr. Michael T. Osterholm of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy and OHDSI’s Dr. Patrick Ryan. .

The Vaccine Evidence Accelerator builds on the framework and methodologies already in place for the COVID-19 diagnostics and therapeutics workstreams. Check back for updates as our vaccine collaborative progresses.
