COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator –Vaccine Workstream

As COVID-19 vaccines move out of vials and into arms, real world data begins to flow from vaccination sites to public health systems, electronic health records, and payor claims. The COVID-19 Evidence Accelerator is launching a new workstream to explore how to best monitor and leverage this real-world data to track vaccine performance.

Our inaugural vaccine meeting on March 18 features an update from FDA’s Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research on their ongoing real-world data gathering and evaluation efforts, and a conversation between Dr. Michael T. Osterholm of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy and OHDSI’s Dr. Patrick Ryan.

The Vaccine Evidence Accelerator builds on the framework and methodologies already in place for the COVID-19 diagnostics and therapeutics workstreams. Check back for updates as our vaccine collaborative progresses.
